My first visit to Maui was in 1991. When I first stepped off the plane at the Maui Airport, I was captivated by the smell of plumeria, the feel of the warm tropical breezes, the sight of swaying palm trees on white sandy beaches and the back drop of the lush green Maui mountains. "Mother Maui" quickly captured my heart and I fell in love with the island. People always ask, "Do you get rock fever?" Absolutely not! Maui is a tropical paradise boasting a 10,000 foot mountain as a back drop to white sandy beaches and outer island views. Maui is most unique to anywhere else in the United States. It offers an undeniable small town feel yet has all the amenities you need, more than most people realize! From savory and sophisticated dining experiences, boutique shopping and an array of services, to a diverse landscape of gorgeous tropical beaches, jungles, ranch lands and upcountry forests perfect for all types of outdoor activity, Maui has it all! The Maui Arts & Cultural Center (MACC) offers theater, film festivals, art and fashion shows, comedy and major concert events. I have enjoyed live music under the stars with some of my favorite performers right here on Maui including Aerosmith, Elton John, The Who, Journey, The Eagles, Steve Miller, Sheryl Crow, Jack Johnson, and Jimmy Buffet just to name a few. If I miss the city lifestyle, then I take a quick 20 minute flight to Honolulu where I am connected to the energy of a big city, right on beautiful Waikiki Beach!
